Taking Carnatic music to the world, and bringing world music together.

Vinod Krishnan is a singer, composer, music producer, and educator. He is the Creative Director for music at IndianRaga and has performed with India's top musicians like Shankar Mahadevan, Vijay Prakash, Ghatam Karthick, to name a few.

 

Trained in Indian classical music and piano, his work explores taking Indian classical music to newer audiences and bringing world music together. Vinod's work has been featured frequently on BBC, Rolling Stone, The Hindu, Indian Express, Times of India, Deccan Chronicle, Score, Film Companion, among many other major Indian and international media.

 

He has trained directly under the tutelage of Carnatic music stalwarts, Padma Bhushan TN Seshagopalan and Padma Sree Neyveli Santhanagopalan for over 20 years. He currently trains under senior music Shri Madurai Sundar who resides in Detroit, Michigan. In his early learning years, he received the prestigious CCRT scholarship awarded by the Indian government for 8 consecutive years.

 

Vinod has also performed at prestigious venues such as the United Nations General Assembly Hall to inaugurate International Day of Yoga in 2019, Shoreline Amphitheater where he opened for Arijit Singh at GaanaFest in 2018 by Times Group, and at the NRG Stadium, Houston,  at 'Howdy Modi' in 2019, welcoming Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
